Someday soon, nearly all school textbooks, worksheets,
tests, and other materials will be on the Internet. 180 teachers for
each grade and each subject, taking one year to do a lesson plan for only
one day's worth of material, could upload within one year nearly all the
lesson plans, curriculum, online tests and many documents, with hyperlinks
to many references, and suggested resources for parents.
Students could take tests online, many of which could be corrected by
computer and returned within seconds of submitting them. Many scores
will be automatically recorded.
Information by subject is located in School Talk at this
location. In addition, please refer to my homework
links. Many of the linked sites are organized by subject.
For now, this section of the website consists of a 22 page handout I wrote
for my daughter's 7th Grade SciMaTec class. It will give you the
feel for what online school work can be like, with a couple of exceptions:
1) the Internet connection you are using may be quite slow compared to the
connection speeds available in the schools, so the wait for pages to load
may be frustrating; and 2) these pages do not have response fields built
into them, which would be easy enough to do. |
