Personal Info

Updated 16 Oct 2006

Jerry is married to Ann Woodbury Moore, a 1974 graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School.  They have one daughter, a 2004 S-G graduate and current Japanese language major at the University at Albany.  Ann is a librarian with the Schenectady County Public Library, where she worked as a page during high school.  She has reviewed hundreds of books for the School Library Journal and published over 30 articles and stories, some of which have been used on state standards exams for public schools.
Jerry served in the U.S. Navy as an Electronics Technician aboard submarines.  He has a cum laude B.A. in Economics and J.D. from The Ohio State University, and an M.A. in Criminal Justice from the University at Albany.  As a prosecutor he sent hundreds of felons to jail and prison and prosecuted all child sex offenders in his jurisdiction.  As a college teacher he taught advanced criminal justice courses in law, courts and ideology to juniors and seniors.
Jerry has served as Schenectady County Human Rights Commissioner, Co-chair of the Schenectady County Jail Oversight Committee and vice president of the Schenectady Access Cable Council, public access channel 16.  He has a private law practice and reads, researches and writes extensively on public education issues.  He believes Scotia-Glenville schools can dramatically improve academic performance, aggressively control costs, and increase the productive use of technology.
Mrs. Vera Weiss, of Glen-Worden's 4th grade, took this picture of our daughter in 1996.  She is holding the book, "Tuck Everlasting."
