Class Project for 1999-2000.

Review the information and structure of the Tree of Life Project at http://phylogeny.arizona.edu/tree/phylogeny.html. Then do some research and find some native New York species that are not a part of the Tree of Life. Learn how to create a Tree of Life web page by reviewing the contributors page at the Tree of Life. Then publish a web page for your species. You'll need to think about forming some committees, creating a project time line, and finding an advisor. You'll also have to learn a lot about phylogeny, and web publishing, but you can easily do that with some dedication and effort. (It's just like writing on paper once you get used to it!) You might even want to seek approval for your project from the Tree of Life Project so you can link your web page to their network. It consists of over 1300 web pages housed on 20 computers in four countries! Hey! If you don't put Schenectady's indigenous species on the web, who will?
