Access to Public Records

Updated 16 Oct 2006

FOIA.gif (15414 bytes) Scotia-Glenville School District will provide access to a wide variety of public records.  The Committee on Open Government issues advisory opinions which public agencies generally follow in providing access.   You can review the law on access to public records at NY Consolidated Laws by browsing under the "Public Officers" hyperlink and choosing Article 6-A from the index.   The Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), as it is commonly known, is contained in section 95.  (The site and information were checked on 12 Aug 1999.)

Instructions For Saving and Printing This Form

The image to the left is the school's form for requesting public information.  You can copy the APPLICATION FOR PUBLIC ACCESS TO RECORDS image to your hard drive by right clicking on the image and saving the image to your hard drive.  You can then print the image by opening it with a photo/paint program or inserting it into a word processing document.  The image is about 6" by 10" and it will print out with much better quality than its reduced size indicates.
